Yakitori
An easy Japanese grilled recipe served on skewers.
INGREDIENTS

Chicken breast | 200g |
Yakitori sauce | 3 Tbsp |
Leek | 1 stem |
Sesame seeds | for garnish |
INSTRUCTIONS

Marinade the chicken
Place 200g of chicken breast cut into cubes in a mixing bowl. Add 3 Tbsp of yakitori sauce. Mix well.

Add leek
Add 1 large leek chopped into large slices. Mix well.

Prepare the skrewers
If you’re using bamboo skewers, soak them in a bowl of water to help stop them from burning when you cook the chicken. Thread the diced chicken and leek alternatively onto skewers.

Grill the skewers
Cook the skewers in the oven or in a big pan. Every thirty seconds, brush the sauce on the top side of the skewers. Repeat until you brush the sauce 4 to 5 times on each side. When the chicken is cooked thoroughly, remove the skewers from the grill. Before serving, brush the sauce once more. If you want richer flavor, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds.
